At EIQF, there are generally two research focus areas:
Simulation-based methods for corporate planning and valuation:

This enables management decisions to be made in a more informed and forward-looking manner. Through simulation-based business valuation, it is possible to conduct precise and forward-looking enterprise valuation even in imperfect capital markets. Unlike modern capital market theory, the cost of capital is not derived theoretically but determined based on a sound risk analysis. This enables a risk-adjusted assessment of capital costs and enterprise values.
Forensic Accounting
In this research area, models for fraud detection in accounting are developed. This is done by incorporating data analytics methods such as Benford’s Law. These models can be used to check financial figures—such as income statements and balance sheets—for potential fraud. This tool is also used in practice (e.g., in CERTINA Group’s acquisition of a majority stake in the listed company Mobotix). The model created in Python is continuously refined.
